About Genie Origin

Genie Origin is a small, independent project, run by one person, that helps people find where their family began – using free, official records – and understand, in plain English, which citizenship route they might fit.

It started from a simple frustration: the official information is out there, but it’s spread across many websites and written in legal language. We gather it in one place, explain it in everyday words, and always send you back to the official page to confirm. We’re starting with Ireland.

What we do

• Point you to the free official record websites, and explain how to use them.
• Explain citizenship-by-descent rules in plain words, always linking to the official page.
• Date every guide, list its official sources, and log our corrections.

What we don’t do

• We are not a government website and have no link to any government or public body.
• We never tell anyone they definitely qualify. Only the official authorities can decide.
• We can’t speed up applications and we never submit them for you.
• We don’t give legal advice. For complex cases we suggest a professional genealogist or a solicitor.
• We don’t copy or resell data from the record websites. We link to them.
• We don’t take payments or pre-orders. Right now there’s only a free waitlist.
